Hello, this is Mark from Rayco Group Classic Car Restorations, and I’m thrilled to share something special with you. We’ve recently welcomed a unique Daimler into our workshop, and I couldn’t wait to give you a sneak peek. This one-off, coach-built car was a visionary concept that never made it to mass production. While I’m not entirely certain if the colors are period-appropriate, the craftsmanship is undeniably impressive. Those door handles are a charming throwback to an era of design that’s rarely seen in modern cars, wouldn’t you agree? We have a few tasks lined up, mainly some paint touch-ups, but the project is shaping up to be quite intriguing. The interior, especially the dashboard, is a true standout – simply exquisite.
I believe the seats are likely original, adding to the allure of this vintage gem. Currently, we’re diving into the mechanics, with a focus on the piper lift motor and restoring the authentic Baker light switches – a nod to the timeless engineering of yesteryears. Working on these classic cars is a passion of mine; there’s something captivating about the meticulous craftsmanship and the evolution of automotive technology over time. It’s fascinating to see how far we’ve come. Even the interior door handles echo the exterior design, adding to the cohesiveness of this remarkable vehicle. This one-off car journeyed all the way from Derby to our workshop, just one example of the diverse projects we handle at any given time.
